Today has seen the mercury on the thermometer back above zero. It has been cold here for the last 2 weeks - too cold to work outdoors in the mornings and it took lots of courage to venture outside even after lunch. But we have soldiered on with the few jobs that could be done in the cold weather. The car port for our camper is nearly finished (we just have to put the doors on), the plans for the foundations and the floor for villa 2 are finalised and we hope to start digging out early next week. Also the vegetable garden has been dug over (numerous times) to get rid of all the couch grass and we hired a rotovator last Friday to work all the compost in and to break up the last few remaining clumps of clay. Now we need a little bit of Languedoc sun to warm up the ground so that the onions and garlic can go in.
The days are lengthening at last and even though its cloudy it is still light at 6.30pm. Valentines tea tonight is Civet of Sanglier . It has been sat in the slow cooker all afternoon and is awaiting some lovely mashed potatoes .....
Happy Valentines Day everyone.
